Diana Wynne Jones RIP

March 28, 2011 § Leave a comment

We at Arthur are of a certain age, which is to say, we were all tweens during the Great Fantasy Uprising for Tweens, or at least that is what we call it.  This was a moment, about ten years ago, in parallel with Harry Potter becoming big, when there was a new deluge of young adult fantasy and a resurrecting and rediscovering (and, in some cases, repackaging) of material for youngish readers.  We were those readers, and for many of us, those books were influential and important.  So with a heavy heart we’d like to bid Diana Wynne Jones adieu, to that great fantasy library in the sky.  We’ll always remember you fondly.
