We write reviews on things like Hitchhiker’s Guide and Twilight, but we usually don’t go meta and talk about reviewing as an art. (Maybe because we thing of it as a mauling anyway?) Enter Stephen Burt, of the adorably nerdy professional photographed.
(On a related note, have you checked out Courtney’s lovely review blog? She hasn’t been updating lately, but we love her feminist critiques.)

We like a good bit of thrash music, especially when it makes us think about Dada art.

We like a good book review around these parts, and we love trash culture, almost much as we like to trash culture (though not nearly as much as we like witticisms.) To that end, we’re loving this book review discussing the coverage of film stars, back when films were black and white but the gossip not that different.

We love a good mash-up. (Girl Talk? DJ Earworm? Yes please.) Today, we’re listening to someone’s mash-up of Jay-Z and Brian Eno. We can’t get enough of “Worlds of Success,” which is sort of strange and off and yet, totally intriguing.

For those of you who follow us on Twitter, you may have noticed a sudden influx of tweeting. Don’t be alarmed. We’ve decided, as part of our celebration of National Poetry Month*, that we’re going to be tweeting lines of poetry from Cherrie Moraga’s The Last Generation. This particular book of Moraga’s isn’t all poetry, in fact, but there are lots of poems in the slim volume, and they are impressive. We’ll be sharing some of favorite lines with you in the coming weeks. You should probably retweet us, so you can spread the word that Moraga is great.
*Yes, this has been posted several days late. So sue us. We’re students; if we put our art over studies, some of you would be up in arms.
